AK international ranking
Hi everybody
I’m holding a chart with all new era games results (games run by Rick Gray and Arnaud Riquoir only). With those results, i’m calculating two rankings : one general – the most games you play the more points you get and an absolute taking account of the number of played games.
You must finish in the 5 first positions of the final ranking to get some points.
For the moment i haven’t found how to add the excel file with the ranking, but if anybody wants to take a look at it, just ask me or ask GM Rick.
Current leaders of the general ranking are :
1) Rick Gray 67,6 points / 11 played games
2) sebastien heinrich 34,4 points / 14 played games
3) Martin Reinert 30 points / 3 played games
(and 4th remco
)
Current leaders of the absolute ranking are :
1) Martin Reinert 10 points / 3 played games & Peter Rietdjik 10 points /2 played games
3) Rick Gray 6,15 points / 11 played games
conclude by yourself who are the strongest players
Teasing moment :
* Remco and seb (myself) are the most playing players (15 and 14 finished games each) : Well it seems we don’ t care so much about finishing on good rank (mostly you remco héhéhé)
* Three veterans still haven’t scored a single points despite two or three finished games Tim, Lino and Mauritz what the hell are you doing ? ;-)

would it be an idea to start that chess rating system for rating player’s?(ilo rating or so it was called imo)

Hi Felandria
Eveni if i used to play chess i don’t know how the IMO ou ILO chess ranking used to be calculated.I would say that my ranking is hand made while you suggest a professionnal ranking
Of course you’re welcome to improove the ranking calculation, but i warn you that difference with chess game is that there are several type of AK games (small map / large map ) and different number of players involved, so that’s not easy to have an automated calculation.
To finish as i don’t know your identity if you feel like knowing more about the way i calculate please ask Rick Gray to forward me your request with your email.

I agree with Felandria…. The calculation are incorrect as I am not on the first place….

Duhhh ! Remco
Send your moves for game 116 so that you can have another victory and improove your ranking even with my “corrupted” (to your eyes) charts.

Arggg ! This will be hard for me to transform those 2 players’s game quations when up to 24 players can be involved in the same AK game ! I’m a engineer but ……well i leave the AK ELO ranking calculation to somebody else

Actually the ak games had an originally ranking system, who was based on each players accomplishment = final game score in each game. It was reasonable good, but also had some drawbacks.
Large individual military victories (= lots of titles), did provide many ranking points. Alliance victories where there where more players to split the titles usually did provide each player with less points.
It did however not treat good players who lost to alliances well, but what ranking system do that.
So my point is, no need to make a ranking system to complicated. It can not handle victories based on alliances anyway.
The only real test of skill is a war against an opponent 1 against 1. If one think it will be even contest, the opponent is likely of equal strenght.

There is still a ranking program available which I will try to figure out and do some ranking of the games which I have already run up until now. I also need to go into all the games and identify Valhallans and manually add them to the Valhallan visitors files. With any luck I will be able to do this sometime over the next few weeks and will publish the ranking to go along with Seb’s rankings.

The classification ELO is according to me the best.
I have the link towards the French classification when this one was managed by Roland DANARD a few years ago (the game play was then paying)

hi there !
About ranking, I use often ELO ranking but it’s a ranking suited for 2 player games like chess, blood bowl, urban rivals, etc …
I’m not sure it’s suitable for multi player games.
Here is the Roland Danard french ranking :

.. and I realize I’m in !
after 20 years ! oO
how amazing
